Carole Lombard

Carole Lombard (October 6, 1908 – January 16, 1942), born Jane Alice Peters in Fort Wayne, Indiana, was an Oscar-nominated American actress. She was particularly noted for her comedic roles in several classic films of the 1930s, most notably in the 1936 film My Man Godfrey. She is listed as one of the American Film Institute's greatest stars of all time and was the highest-paid star in Hollywood in the late 1930s, earning around US$500,000 per year (more than five times the salary of the US President). Lombard's career was cut short when she died at the age of 33 in an airplane crash.

Carole Lombard made her film debut at the age of twelve after she was seen playing baseball in the street by director Allan Dwan; he cast her as a tomboy in A Perfect Crime (1921).

With director Alfred Hitchcock she did Mr. & Mrs. Smith (1941). The film gave Lombard's career a much needed boost and she followed her success with what proved to be her last film, one of her most successful, To Be or Not to Be (1942).That film got released two months after the untimely death of diva.
In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked Lombard 23rd on its list of the 50 greatest American female screen legends. She received one Academy Award for Best Actress nomination, for My Man Godfrey.
Lombard's Fort Wayne childhood home has been designated a historic landmark. The city named the nearby bridge over the St. Mary's River the "Carole Lombard Memorial Bridge."

Milkshakes in West Hollywood : Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat

Bollywood actress Mallika Sherawat joined the league of Hollywood celebs including Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Victoria Beckham, David Beckham and Paris Hilton, after a Hollywood milkshake was named after her.

Mallika, who visited Millions of Milkshakes in West Hollywood, has been honoured with her very own milkshake called the ‘Mallika shake’, reports Contactmusic. The Mallika shake includes blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, and Chocolate sauce. To make the shake more appealing, it has been topped with whipped cream.

“American Idol” is hitting the road yet again and coming to a town near you!

The “American Idols Live!” 2009 Tour kicks off in Portland, OR on July 5, and will feature the top 10 contestants from “American Idol” season 8.

Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Anoop Desai, Danny Gokey, Kris Allen, Lil Rounds, Matt Giraud, Megan Joy, Michael Sarver and Scott MacIntyre will visit 50 cities across North America as part of highly anticipated summer tour.

She caused a minor controversy over her most recent film Survival Island (previously known as Three), in which she co-starred with fiance Zane, when kelly Brook and Zane requested her nude scenes be excised from the final cut, which the producers refused to do. In 2007 she will be seen as a guest star in the british television drama Hotel Babylon, the independent films In the mood and Fishtales and Carry on London, the latest in the Carry on series.

Theatre work In December 2000, she played Anya, a lap dancer in the play Eye Contact at the Riverside Theatre in Hammersmith, London UK. This role gathered considerable tabloid publicity as the finale of the show involved kelly Brook stripping naked.
